Denis Villeneuve doesn’t see his Dune movies as a trilogy.
Instead, he views them more like two parts of a single story. The first film introduces us to the world and characters, while the second one dives deeper into the narrative. He believes this approach helps in telling a richer, more detailed tale.
Interestingly, many directors prefer making trilogies because it allows for extended storytelling. But Denis feels that sometimes less is more. “I see them as two halves of one big movie,” he said.
I think it’s cool when directors try different things.
Villeneuve’s vision is unique, and it shows in his work. Some fans might expect a third installment, but for now, he’s focused on perfecting these two films.
