- Sean “Diddy” Combs went all out with an impressive Batman-themed Halloween costume, despite legal concerns with Warner Bros.
- Diddy has previously received cease and desist memos from Warner Bros. for his Joker costume inspired by Heath Ledger’s portrayal in The Dark Knight.
- In other Batman news, the upcoming film The Brave and the Bold will star Bruce Wayne/Batman and Damian Wayne/Robin and may feature other members of the extended “Bat-family.”
Rapper and record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs didn’t let legal concerns stop him from donning an amazing Batman costume for Halloween. On Wednesday, Diddy shared pictures and videos of himself wearing a highly-detailed Batman costume, complete with accurate recreations of the Batsuit, Tumbler, and Batcave from The Dark Knight trilogy. He took to Twitter (aka X) to share a short film called #TheDarkestKnight.
In the video, Diddy delivers a monologue as Batman (with a mini Lucius Fox by his side) before heading to a studio executive office to demand the end of the SAG-AFTRA actor’s strike. The short film concludes with the news that the strike has been ended by The Darkest Knight.
This impressive Halloween display comes after Diddy received cease and desist memos from Warner Bros. Pictures for wearing a Joker costume in 2022 that was inspired by Heath Ledger’s iconic portrayal in The Dark Knight.
On Tuesday, the artist took to social media to claim that legal issues with Warner Bros. had ruined his Halloween. In an Instagram video, he said, “Breaking Halloween news: last year after I did the Black Joker, I got a bunch of emails from the studio telling me to not be the Joker anymore, that I was breaching the trademark. So I don’t know what I’m going to be this year… I’m not going to be the Joker this year because your a** had enough time to f*** up my motherf***ing Halloween.”
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Diddy discussed his 2022 Halloween costume, saying, “Last year I was the Joker, and I actually got a letter from the studio that I can no longer be the Joker because they said it broke their trademark that I did it too good, I swear.”
As for other Batman-related news, it has been confirmed that the upcoming film, The Brave and the Bold, will star Bruce Wayne/Batman and Damian Wayne/Robin. DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have also hinted that the movie might feature other recognizable characters from the larger “Bat-family.” In January, Gunn commented on the film, stating, “This is the introduction of the DCU’s Batman. This is the story of Damian Wayne, who is Batman’s actual son… It’s based on the Grant Morrison comic book’s run, which is one of my favorite Batman runs, and we are putting that all together right now.”
Safran added, “And this is obviously a feature film, and it’s going to feature other members of the extended ‘Bat-family,’ just because we feel like they’ve been left out of the Batman stories in the theaters for far too long.”
Although The Brave and the Bold does not have a release date, Robert Pattinson’s The Batman: Part II is currently scheduled for release on October 3, 2025.
