Building on their collaboration in The Expendables, Levon’s Trade will have Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone working together again with Statham as the leading actor and Stallone penning the script. In this new action movie, Statham will portray a construction worker who was once a black-ops agent. Not only that, but the film will also reunite Statham with The Beekeeper director David Ayer.
Levon’s Trade will have Statham playing Levon Cade, a man who leaves his dark past behind in order to lead a simpler life as a construction worker and a good father to his daughter. But when his boss’s daughter Jenny goes missing, Levon has to use the skills that once made him a legend in order to find her. His search takes him deep into a criminal conspiracy which in turn threatens his new way of life. The movie is an adaptation of the novel by Chuck Dixon, with Stallone, Statham, and Ayer hoping this collaboration could potentially turn into a successful franchise.
With Statham having already been attached to the project before the ongoing strike, filming for Levon’s Trade is expected to begin in March 2024 in London. The film is being produced by Black Bear and BlockFilm. Bill Block, former CEO of Miramax, is confident that the working relationship between Ayer and Statham will result in yet another spectacular action movie.
While audiences await Levon’s Trade, Statham will be seen in the upcoming action thriller The Beekeeper, playing the mysterious Mr. Clay. Directed by David Ayer and written by Kurt Wimmer, The Beekeeper also stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, Phylicia Rashad, and Jeremy Irons. The film is slated for release by Amazon MGM Studios on January 12, 2024.
