In the midst of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, the release date of Zendaya’s upcoming tennis movie, Challengers, has been delayed to 2024. The strike has not only affected the production and shooting schedules of several Hollywood projects but has also caused Challengers to be removed from the Venice Film Festival lineup.
Since the strike began, many actors have refused to cross picket lines and work on films, showing solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA members. This loyalty hinders the completion of numerous movies, including Challengers.
The tennis movie featuring the popular actress, who fans adore from her work on the hit TV show Euphoria, tells the story of young tennis players whose lives change dramatically when they begin to compete in the sport at a professional level. Despite the anticipation for the film, there’s little choice for the producers but to respect the situation and postpone.
