Award season has finally kicked off with the unveiling of the Razzies nominations, and it’s Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham’s movies, The Expend4bles and Meg 2: The Trench, leading the least desired awards list with a total of ten nominations between them. These films are among the nominees for Worst Picture and Worst Actor for Stallone’s supporting role and Statham as the lead.
David Gordon Green’s The Exorcist: Believer and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey have each picked up five nominations, including Worst Picture and Worst Director, but no acting nominations. Despite this, both films are included in the Worst Couple category, with Pooh and Piglet as a slasher team-up on one side and, to quote, “Any 2 Money-Grubbing Investors Who Donated to the $400 Million for Remake Rights to The Exorcist” on the other.
Meanwhile, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have garnered four nods, including ones for Michael Douglas and Bill Murray, while Shazam! Fury of the Gods earned the same number of nominations, with Dame Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu among the nominees. The 44th Annual Razzie Award winners will be revealed on Saturday, March 9.
