In a Twilight watch-a-long with Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz, Hardwicke reveals how they tried to make the scene exciting and fun.
Hardwicke explains that she and the Twilight team had to teach most of the actors how to play baseball as only Jackson Rathbone and Cam Gigandet were familiar with the game. She was impressed with how the entire cast made it look effortless and specifically praised the hard work of Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen, and Nikki Reed, who portrayed Rosalie Hale.
