“In the not so distant future…” Get ready for a Thanksgiving weekend filled with laughter and terrible movies, as the Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) Mega Turkey Day Marathon Telethon returns with a whopping 48 hours of the best of the worst B-movies ever made. Instead of fighting through crowded shopping malls or watching football games, you can enjoy classic MST3K episodes, including The Saga of the Viking Women and Their Voyage to the Waters of the Great Sea Serpent and The Pumaman, alongside the hosts and their wisecracking bots providing hilarious commentary.

The MST3K Turkey Day Marathon first premiered on Thanksgiving Day in 1988, and this year’s event starts at the same time on November 23rd, continuing a three-and-a-half-decade-long movie-riffing tradition. The Mega Turkey Day Marathon Telethon will showcase 24 classic episodes over the course of two days, ending on Saturday, November 25th at 9 a.m. ET. The event is held in conjunction with the conclusion of the MST3K Season 14 crowdfunding campaign.

Created 35 years ago by Joel Hodgson, Mystery Science Theater 3000 features an “inventive” janitor named Joel Robinson who watches and mocks terrible B-movies with his “wisecracking” robot companions, Crow and Tom Servo. Throughout the years, the show has evolved with different hosts and characters, but the cheesy B-movie content remains the same. For the Mega Turkey Day Marathon Telethon, the writers of MST3K have chosen a variety of fan-favorite episodes to fill the 48-hour event, which will feature classic and new episodes that riff on films like The Bubble, The Christmas Dragon, and many more.

Fans can stream the Mystery Science Theater 3000 Mega Turkey Day Marathon Telethon on Shout! TV, the MST3K channel, and on Gizmoplex, starting at 9 a.m. EST on Thursday, November 23rd. Those interested in contributing to a potential 14th season of MST3K can also visit the show’s crowdfunding efforts and donate.
