Calvin Palmer and the crew at Calvin’s south side Chicago barbershop face competition in the guise of Nappy Cuts, a hair salon franchise. “Mom and Pop” shops are closing due to gentrification. Calvin’s ongoing one-up-manship with former girlfriend Gina, owner of the beauty shop next door, adds to the turmoil. While his crew deals with life changes and the effects of Nappy Cuts on business, Calvin is offered a bribe from alderman Lawlowe Brown and Nappy Cuts creator Quinton Leroux to support new city council legislation. It would allow more businesses like Nappy Cuts to enter the south side while pushing out or closing down time honored “Mom and Pop” businesses. Can Calvin find a way to keep the hometown advantage against Nappy Cuts?
Barbershop 2: Back in Business DVD/Blu-ray is rated PG-13. Parents are urged to be cautious. Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers (under 13).
