Overview

Doris is left reeling and withdrawn after the death of her beloved grandfather. One day, while watching Fat Albert on television, one of her tears hits the remote control, which allows the gang from the show to leap into her three-dimensional world and help her to regain her social life and find happiness again. The gang, especially Fat Albert himself, needs time to adjust to life in the real world, and Doris helps them to understand modern technology and customs. With the help of her new friends, Doris goes to a party and meets a new love interest. However, the happiness is short lived, as Albert and company cannot survive for long in the real world. They eventually must return to the world inside the television. Even after they leave her, Doris’ life remains better from their help.
