Overview

An average state trooper, Charlie, runs into problems when his wife leaves him for the midget chauffeur from their wedding. Charlie develops an alter ego, a driven, insouciant macho-man who is much more capable than the real Charlie, to deal with community ridicule. His shrink puts Charlie on medication to suppress the alter ego. The police department unwittingly gives Charlie the assignment of delivering Irene, a young lady who has been involved in an accident, to a far away jurisdiction, never understanding how unstable Charlie is. Irene’s boss, fearful of Irene’s knowledge of his EPA bribe, sends hit men to kill Irene. Unfortunately, they are not prepared to deal with Charlie’s split personality.
