Overview

A Santa Barbara, California man, Shawn Spencer, who imagines that he has psychic abilities, persuades the local police force to allow him to assist on complicated investigations. He often brings his childhood friend Gus into the situation, and together, they help solve cases. Shawn’s perception of his abilities stems from being raised by a police officer father, who taught him the importance of the powers of observation, and how sometimes, noting the tiniest details in a situation can be beneficial. The program often films on location along the Southern Coast of California, with its dramatic ocean scenery settings, as well as featuring the beautiful and luxurious homes of the Santa Barbara area. The playful bantering between Shawn and his friend Gus help make even the most serious crimes take on an amusing comedic air.
