John Clark is a successful lawyer who works hard and has a wonderful wife and family to come home to. Nonetheless, he feels a sense of emptiness inside him, and he isn’t sure what can fill the void. When he catches a glimpse of a supple dance instructor, he becomes intrigued and decides to follow his intuition, which leads him to take dance lessons, a pastime he never would have imagined for himself. He and the instructor become close friends, but he does not want to take any romantic spark too far, as he truly loves his wife despite the distance that has developed. Meanwhile, other students have their own reasons for taking dance lessons, particularly sweet-natured Vern, who wants to dance at his wedding.
