Melanie Smooter, belle of the South, flees her Alabama roots for the skylines of New York City. While chasing her dream of being a clothing designer in the Big Apple, she falls in love with no other than New York’s elite, Andrew Hennings, son to the city’s Mayor. When her beau pops the question, the now-Ms. Melanie Carmichael must travel back home in seek of the divorce she never got from her high school sweetheart, Jake. Melanie finds more than she bargains for in the Deep South reconnecting with her past and rediscovering who she is. What she once ran away from now seems more and more like everything she needs.
