As a young French peasant girl, Joan feels a strong calling to God and spends much of her time visiting with the priest in her local church. Soon her village is devastated by the tragic events that accompany war, and Joan witnesses the brutalities first hand while managing to escape with her life. She experiences a vision that leads her to believe she has been summoned by God and so she follows a path that takes her down the road to becoming a soldier. Despite the fact that she’s a woman, Joan of Arc leads her troops to victory after astounding victory and eventually she must face down the leader of France, who is jealous of her accomplishments.
